Who can register for a team?
You must be a member of one of the ten clubs that is fielding a team during the season, or invited by a club/team captain to play. All players must be registered before they can play in a match. You should have prior pickleball experience . Each team will have a roster of 6 to 8 players.
Which division do I register for?
Within each discipline (Mens, Womens and Mixed Doubles) there are two divisions; Elite (3.7+) and Premier (3.7). Players must signup for the division based on their Universal Pickleball Tournament Rating (UPTR) , DUPR or self-rating. For guidelines of self rating please refer to USA Pickleball rating guidelines here.
When, where and how long are matches?
The season is typically 12 weeks long and matches are every other week. per discipline. Matches are scheduled by the home team and are hosted at the home club. Match times are typically scheduled in late afternoons/evenings and last approximately 2 hours. A master schedule for each discipline is published prior to the season start.
What is the match format?
Each match consists of 8 total players, 4 home team and 4 visitors. The match is a "round-robin" format where all players on a team will play with each other against players from the opposing team. The match consists of 3 rounds of 4 games (12 total games) to 11 points. USAPA rules are used to govern play.
What is Peninsula Interclub Pickleball?
Peninsula Interclub Pickleball was founded in 2021 to promote and provide a fun/competitive way for pickleballers on the mid-peninsula to meet and play. There have been over 10 clubs and 150 players who have participated in league play since its inception.
